To followers, new and old alike:
You may or may not have been around to have seen a work in progress or two of this piece here. Well it’s been floating in and out of my digital workspace since April. I’ll most likely revisit it, but I am extremely THRILLED about how it’s turned out and I’d like to say I’ll be stopping here..for now.
Flora is the second installment of a series of muses of an elemental form. A sister to Frost, I saw it fit to portray Flora in a similar, art nouveau presentation. A difficulty of mine happens to be forming composition, and this was no exception. The arrangement of all the after-thought products (the pillar vines and text) ended up creating a stoic, centered feel, albeit balanced. To fight that, I did rework the body a couple of times and found this seated contrapposto really helped move the eye through out. The fashioned wave is repeated in the shape of each individual vine and really ties together that way.
I recently started interning as a designer for a start up non-profit that acts as the “TOMS” of real estate (you buy/sell a home, they build one for a family in a third world country). The start up has a second philanthropy that I’ve been assigned to create logo designs for.
Here are a couple snippets. I’ll see about whether or not I can post the full ones later, and even the finishes.
Have a good one
Here’s project of mine I completed recently.
Free Arts for Abused Children is a nonprofit based out in Los Angeles that uses art and crafts as therapy to help mend broken families and nurture better lives or troubled youth.
This brochure explains their programs and mission further, I emailed them with an inquiry about checking out this brochure and hopefully they might want to use it!
Hard at work bringing Disney Pixar’s Monster’s Inc.’s high profile eatery to life. Complete with menu design, logotype engraved chopsticks, coasters, advertisements and teasers, and a mobile take out app. This concept has really matured.
So first I’d like to apologize for not having posted in a while. Between design classes, and the two jobs I’m working now. I’ve been extremely busy.
The hard work is paying off and my instructor has been recommending me to a bunch of people, most notably she scored me an interview at a publishing and marketing company out here in Southern California, pretty close to home. Interview’s tomorrow and it is a full time design job, wish me the best, please!
Foolin’ around designing stuff to keep busy.
This is an album cover I put together for kicks. The band is REALLY great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the EP. If you haven’t listened to Coyote Theory.
Just go give ‘em a listen and thank me later.
*Edit: Added the back cover, pressed vinyl, and iTunes environment*
Here’s a new sketch from a new sketchbook for you all.
In celebration of the Iron Man 3 movie, I’m running a giveaway of an original drawing of Iron Man, all you gotta do is share the post about it!
Then I’ll tally the sharers in order and perform a random number generator to get the winner! That or put everyone’s name in a hat. Either way, enter to win! Like the page to stay updated on more offers and exciting information!
